We all know Alaska's wilderness is critical habitat for all sorts of iconic wildlife. Grizzly bears, caribou, polar bear, walruses, migratory birds -- all these creatures and more rely on the pristine National Petroleum Reserve lands for scare resources in the arctic tundra.
The Department of the Interior is deciding the fate of this critical piece of land right now. You need to make sure your voice is heard »
There are a host of options in front of government officials, but only one plan -- Alternative B -- actually protects this land for the wildlife who depend on it. Alternative B would ban this area from future oil and gas leasing, dodging a huge bullet that could spell disaster.
You can be sure that special oil interests are shouting loud for a plan that would pad their pockets. That's why we need our voices to be even louder.
Tell Interior Secretary Salazar that you want Alaska's lands protected for bears, birds and seals -- not destroyed for oil. »
